Apply for New Ration Card in Assam

Steps to apply for a ration card in Assam

A ration card is official documentation of eligibility for India’s Public Distribution System (PDS). State and central governments supply rice, wheat, sugar and kerosene at subsidized prices to card holders under PDS. Without this, you have to pay full market rates. In addition, when there is a natural calamity like floods or when there is a rise in prices, ration card holders tend to get extra relief items. Hence, locking your card not only reduces family spending but also creates an insurance against lack or inflation.
